Energy Efficency Assessments
Being a building designer with an interest in getting the most out of every design it was beneficial to branch into energy efficiency assessments. Gaining the qualification in residential 2nd generation energy rating software combined with high-quality knowledge of building methods provides the ability to improve a design to maximise its energy efficiency, therefore reducing the effect on the environment and putting more money back into the pockets of home owners.
Early Benefit to Your Business:
Preliminary designs can be assessed when provided with a site plan, floor plan and a few essential design features eg roof material, wall construction. Conducting this preliminary assessment will provide an energy rating for that building “as is”. Should the building not attain the minimum star rating of 6, under the BERS Simulation Method, alternative methods of reducing heating and cooling loads within the building will be discussed directly to the client of HR Design Group, providing your company with options of achieving the required rating and beyond.
Rating & Certification:
Submitted Final plans and a completed HR Design Group Checklist will enable an energy assessment to be certified. The building will be re-run through the BERs program and a star rating will be provided. An assessment details form will be provided stating all parties involved and their contact details. A specification page will be provided detailing all aspects of the building and the methods of construction and will also be affixed to a copied set of your architectural plans. A certificate will be provided certifying that the design meets the standard required to the states authority. A form 15 will be produced to certify the assessment for building approval.
